1. A mix of rock, post-punk and alternative styles, Pere Ubu can be a tough listen. But Cloudland is the band at their most accessible. Though the last few tracks are lackluster, the majority of the album is a joy to listen to, the lyrics sometimes silly, but always interesting/5(12).

3. Dave Thomas voice is unique to be kurt but his lyrics are original and often tongue-in-cheek humorous or plaintive. And the band just jams right behind him like any good rock band does, that is on this album. Earlier Pere Ubu was more 'out there' musically but Cloudland and Worlds In Collison are 'pop' enough to be accessible to anybody.4/5(7).
